According to officials in Dharwad, Karnataka, at least 66 medical college students who had been fully vaccinated against coronavirus tested positive for COVID-19.
Following a college event in which 300 out of 400 students were forced to undergo Covid tests, the students of SDM College of Medical Sciences were found to be infected.
On the orders of the district health officer and deputy commissioner, the two college dorms have been sealed as a precautionary measure. Physical education classes have been suspended for the time being, according to school officials.
Nitesh Patil, the deputy commissioner of Dharwad, has quarantined the infected students, who have been vaccinated with both doses of the Covid vaccine and will be treated in their hostel.
“The remaining 100 students will be evaluated using COVID-19. The students have been quarantined. A total of two hostels have been quarantined. Students will be given medical care as well as a nutritious meal. Visitors will be unable to enter the hostels. Students who haven’t taken their exams yet will be quarantined together “According to what Mr. Patil said.
Infected students are believed to have contracted the virus at a recent college event.
“‘We’re trying to find out if the students dropped out of university.’ At this time, we believe a student-only event was held at the college. Every student who attended the event was put to the test. We tracked down and tested everyone who could be a primary or secondary source of information. The vaccine has been administered to all of the students “based on the official statement
Some infected students, according to him, have a cough and a fever, while others have no symptoms at this time.
