Konijeti Rosaiah: Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Konijeti Rosaiah passed away on Saturday in Hyderabad. As per the reports, family members took the veteran leader to the private hospital after seeing him in an unconscious state and the doctors had confirmed that Roshaiah was brought dead.
The senior Congress leader Rosaiah held several positions during his long political career. He had served in various positions like MLA, MLC, Lok Sabha members. He served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 2009-2010.
Rosaiah was also worked as the Governor of Karnatak for two months and served as the Governor of Tamil Nadu 2011-2016. He had also created a record by presenting 15 budgets in the assembly.
Konijeti Rosaiah was born in July 1933 at Vemuru in Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh. He was a commerce graduate. He has been active in politics since his student days in the Hindu College, Guntur. He served as a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council in the years 1968, 1974, and 1980. He worked as Minister for Roads under Marri Chenna Reddy.
Mr. K Rosaiah served as a minister in the Cabinets of T Anjaiah, Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy, N Janardhana Reddy, and YS Rajasekhara Reddy. He held the portfolios such as health, home, education, and transport.
Rosaiah became the CM of AP after the death of YS Rajasekhara Reddy. He resigned from that position citing health reasons on 24th November 2010.
He served as the president of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee between 1995 and 1997.
Andhra University presented an honorary doctorate on Rosaiah in 2007. He has three sons and a daughter.
