A 46-year-old Bengaluru doctor was one of the first Omicron cases in India, with only mild body aches and a mild fever. The doctor, who wishes to remain anonymous, was found to be infected with Covid for the second time.
He insists that he is “completely fine” right now. When describing his infection, he says “nothing to worry about” because he had no major respiratory symptoms, unlike the majority of other cases of infection with other variants. According to NDTV, he had no cold or cough, and his oxygen saturation was normal.
He locked himself in a room and didn’t speak to any of his family members as soon as he began experiencing symptoms. According to him, he was tested the next morning and found to be positive for Covid in both the RAT and the RT-PCR tests. The doctor had already received both doses of the Covishield vaccine, which he had received twice.
After three days at home, the doctor was rushed to the hospital due to dizziness, he said. “Because my oxygen saturation was between 96 and 97, I was admitted to the hospital and given monoclonal antibodies the same day. This, I believe, occurred on November 25. But I had no symptoms after that “This is what he had to say about it. The doctor began experiencing symptoms on November 21 and was diagnosed as positive the following day.
When he was first diagnosed, genomic sequencing was used to identify the strain of the virus. On November 25th, a few hours after beginning treatment with monoclonal antibodies, he reported no symptoms, including mild fever and muscle pain.
The results of the doctor’s most recent RT-PCR test came back positive the other day. “Normally, it takes two weeks after an infection to test negative; I could take another 2-3 days,” he explained. For him to be released after another seven days of observation, the RT-PCR test results must be negative.
There is no record of him ever having come into contact with anyone who was Covid positive, and he denies ever having done so. As a result, he suspects he got it from a patient who had a travel history.
He claims to have gone out and done some contact tracing for his alleged contacts. With the exception of two coworkers, everyone in his hospital has tested negative.
