Perni Venkataramaiah is Minister of Transport and I & PR of the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government of Andhra Pradesh. He is a member of the Legislative Assembly from the Machilipatnam assembly constituency. He is one of the most effective politicians in Andhra Pradesh state.
Family
Perni Nani comes from a family with a political background. His father Krishnamurthy was Municipal Chairman of Bandar (Machilipatnam). Krishnamurthy was also elected as an MLA and was Minister in the Nedurumalli Janardhana Reddy-led government.
Perni Nani’s wife’s name is Jayasudha. She did her PG in Mass communications. This couple has one son named Krishnamoorthi who is a B.Tech graduate.
Political Career
For the first time, Perni Nani contested on a Congress ticket as an MLA in 1999 but lost. Later, he won as an MLA from Congress party in the 2004 and 2009 general elections. In the year 2013, he resigned from Congress and joined the YSR Congress party.
Perni Nani lost to TDP MLA candidate Kollu Ravindra in the 2014 general elections. Later, he defeated Kollu Ravindra belonging to TDP by a margin of 6000 votes.
