PM Modi To Interact With Indian Athletes of Tokyo Olympics via Video Conference Today: On 13th July, PM Narendra Modi will interact with the Tokyo-bound Indian athletes, before their departure for the Tokyo Olympics.
From 23rd July, the Tokyo games will commence. India is sending its biggest Olympic contingent with 126 athletes. Know, India’s topmost medal contenders at Tokyo Olympics.
The video conference of Modi with athletes is scheduled for today evening, 5 pm IST. The motive of this meeting is to encourage and motivate the players. Recently on the radio show, Mann ki Baat, also Modi mentioned the Tokyo games.
The PMO stated, “Recently, PM had reviewed the facilitation preparations of India’s contingent at Tokyo-2020. On Mann Ki Baat, he had discussed inspirational stories of athletes also, apart from urging the nation to wholeheartedly support them.”
Recently, the flag-bearers of India for the Tokyo games are announced. Indian Men’s hockey team captain Manpreet Singh and veteran boxer Mary Kom get the honour of carrying the national flag at the opening ceremony. In the Rio Olympics 2016, Abhinav Bindra held the Indian flag. The Indian sports fanatics are feeling so much excitement as so many promising players are taking part.
