World Photography Day: History
The origins of Photography day can be traced to 1837 when the Daguerreotype was developed by Frenchmen Louis Daguerre and Joseph Nicephore Niepce.
After two years, the French Academy of Sciences announced the Daguerreotype process. But, this was not the first permanent photographic image.
The French government made an announcement of the invention as a gift free to the world on 19th August.
The earliest known permanent photograph was captured by the Niepce. Thomas Sutton has taken the first-ever durable color photograph in 1861. Around 100 later, the world got its first digital camera.
