Officials in Mumbai said today that an unknown caller dialled the traffic control room and claimed that the lives of 19 passengers at Mumbai’s international airport were in jeopardy.
The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, a dog squad, and a rapid response team responded to the airport on Tuesday afternoon and conducted a thorough investigation.
According to an official who spoke to the Press Trust of India news agency, the CISF was also notified, but no suspicious activity was discovered.

His statement also stated that efforts were being made to apprehend the unknown caller, and that the Sahar police had filed a case against him under Indian Penal Code Sections 505(1)(b) (intent to cause, or likely cause, public fear or alarm) and 506(2) (intent to cause, or likely cause, public fear or alarm) (punishment for criminal intimidation).
