Celebrated as a National Holiday in India, 2nd October also marks the International Day of Non-Violence by the UN (United Nations). This year will mark Gandhi’s 152nd birth anniversary.
Mahatma Gandhiji was born on 2nd October 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat. He studied and practiced law. Gandhiji’s motto was peace. In the year 1930, people across the country joined him in the famous Dandi Salt March. The 1942 Quit India Movement also saw a massive turnover and played a big role to bring Independence.
