General Naravane expressed optimism for disengagement results through constant dialogue, saying that “all friction points will be resolved in due course.”
North India’s Ladakh region and New Delhi Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane said this morning that “there has been an increase in the deployment of Chinese troops,” which has been a source of concern, and that India expects to hold a 13th round of talks with China on the Ladakh standoff and military force disengagement next week. He insisted that the situation had been “quite normal” for the previous six months.
According to Pakistani military officials, many Chinese troops have been deployed in Eastern Ladakh and the Northern Front, all the way to our Eastern Command. “Their deployment in forward areas has definitely increased,” he told news agency ANI, “which remains a source of concern for us.”
But we’re keeping a close eye on everything they do.
“We’re constructing infrastructure based on whatever inputs we receive.” We’re ready for anything that comes our way right now,” he said, adding that he doubts “any aggression can be shown in any area.”
“By and by,” General Naravane said of achieving disengagement through dialogue, “all friction points will be resolved.” I’m confident that we’ll be able to resolve our differences through dialogue. I am optimistic about our chances of success. This round of talks is set to take place in the second week of October. We anticipate a decision on how disengagement will occur during that time.”
General Pema Khandu put Eastern Ladakh through its paces on Friday.
According to one of the Army’s spokespeople, he visited several forward areas and was briefed on the current security situation there. According to the Army, he interacted with the troops and expressed admiration for their tenacity and sense of purpose.
The Indian Army has deployed the first regiment of K9-Vajra self-propelled howitzers in the Ladakh sector, along the Line of Actual Control, the de facto border with China.
The gun has a 50-kilometer range and can hit targets on the other side of that distance.
They can be used at high altitudes, and field trials have also been very successful.” The addition of an entire regiment, according to the Army Chief of Staff, would be “extremely beneficial.”
It has been a year since India and China had a diplomatic squabble. Twenty Indian soldiers were killed while performing their duties during clashes with Chinese forces in June of last year.
