New Covid strain found in South Africa classified as ‘Variant Of Concern’ by WHO, named Omicron

The World Health Organization (WHO) on Friday assigned another COVID-19 variation identified in South Africa with an enormous number of transformations as being of concern, the fifth variation to be given the assignment. The WHO said in an explanation that it had allotted the B.1.1.529 variation the Greek letter Omicron.
