Ankiti Bose, Zilingo Co-founder started her career with a brief stint at McKinsey & Co in 2012 and later joined Sequoia Capital as an investment analyst in 2014.
Ziningo, a Singapore high-profile startup, has suspended its Indian co-founder and CEO Ankiti Bose after alleged disparity in the company’s accounts.
The B2B online fashion company which supplies technology to apparel factories and markets has been trying to raise $150 to $200 million in fresh funding rounds that would put its valuation at around $1 billion resulting in entering into the unicorn club.
However, the alleged claims of differences have halted the process putting Bose under the watch for mismanagement.
Zilingo was founded by Ankiti Bose and Dhruv Kapoor seven years ago to help small businesses across Southern and Southeast Asia to help them sell their goods online.
Zilingo now operates in Hong Kong, Thailand, Australia, India, and United States. In 2019, the startup raised $226 million from investors including Temasek and Sequoia capital, she was considered a visionary who changed the Southeast Asia entrepreneurial game as the company valuation up to $970 million. She achieved this milestone in just 27.
Bose expressed herself in an interview that the reason she built her start-up was because of the experience she gained from Sequoia. She did her schooling in Mumbai and studied economics at St. Xavier’s college. She has been featured in Forbes Asia’s 30 lists and Fortune’s 40 under 40. In 2019, she made it to Bloomberg 50.
As the current controversy about disparities unveils, she has lawyered up and contends her suspension was due in part to her complaints about harassment.
