Nine legal officials were on Sunday raised as additional judges of the Calcutta High Court, the law service said. As per a notice given by the Department of Justice in the legal service, the nine new additional judges have been designated for a period of two years.
Normally, additional judges are delegated for quite some time and then raised as long-lasting appointed authorities.
Those selected are Biswaroop Chowdhury, Partha Sarathi Sen, Prasenjit Biswas, Uday Kumar, Ajay Kumar Gupta, Supratim Bhattacharya, Partha Sarathi Chatterjee, Apurba Sinha Ray, and Md. Shabbar Rashidi, in a specific order of status.
