- After poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar’s comments comparing the RSS to the Taliban, the Shiv Sena has come to the RSS’s (the BJP’s ideological mentor) defence.
The Sena declared that Javed Akhtar’s comparison of the two was “completely incorrect.”
The Sena pointed out in an editorial in party mouthpiece Saamna that the RSS, for example, had not supported the religious frenzy that accompanied the ‘beef’ issue, emphasising that “no frenzy in the name of Hindutva is accepted here… neither the Shiv Sena nor the RSS support that.”
“We’re not going to stand for Hindutva crazy. It’s hard to believe that individuals who support the idea of a “Hindu rashtra” have a Taliban mentality. There’s a problem with this “said the party.
In an editorial, the Sena newspaper stated that “Human rights, democracy, and personal freedom have no significance in the Taliban-ruled countries of Pakistan and China. As far as Hindustan’s mentality is concerned, this is not the case. It goes without saying that we’re incredibly tolerant “Editorial of “SENA”
“Some people may be trying to impose a dictatorship under the garb of democracy, but they have a limit. Because of this, comparing RSS to Taliban is not appropriate.”
“Javed Akhtar has torn the masks of fanatics on every occasion. Despite the threats of fanatics, he sang “Vande Mataram.” But we reject the Taliban parallel “the party penned down.
“Despite having a majority Hindu population, this nation nevertheless flies the secularist flag. People should not be silenced just because they are a majority of Hindus… Javed Akhtar, do you agree with what we’re saying? “Asking for your opinion in the editorial.
