Sharad Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party, praised Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Saturday for effectively using his power to promote development.
At a celebration in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, two leaders from opposing political parties shared the dais.
Mr Pawar said he was attending the event to show his support for (Mr) Gadkari’s plans to inaugurate numerous projects in Ahmednagar aimed at resolving the city’s long-standing problems.
According to the NCP leader, work on (Mr) Gadkari’s projects begins soon after the function. “However, for (Mr) Gadkari’s projects, work begins immediately after the function,” he added.

As far as I recall, approximately 5,000 kilometres of work had been completed prior to (Mr) Gadkari taking over this responsibility. However, the NCP chief claims that “the figure has exceeded 12,000 kilometres” since he took over.
According to a former Union agriculture minister, sugarcane will not only be used for sugar production in the future, but it should also be considered as a raw material for ethanol production.
In his speech, Mr. Gadkari stated that the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) de-silted local rivers and streams while working on road projects in the Maharashtra district of Buldhana.
He advised Maharashtra Rural Development Minister Hasan Mushrif to prioritise water conservation in the Ahmednagar district.
Mr Mushrif, the guardian minister for the district and an NCP leader, was present.
