Despite a drop in coronavirus cases post the second wave, we all are still facing a threat from the Delta variant of the Covid-19 virus. As this variant is highly infectable and has the ability to surpass some of the generated antibodies, lockdowns are reimposing.
Vaccines alone cannot guarantee protection from the Delta variant. We are in a greater need of wearing masks. It is proven that double masking is highly effective and protective against variants.
Why masks are important after the vaccination also?
The vaccines are offering good protection against the Delta variant. Still, masks offer strong protection.
Masks provide protection in two different ways, one is the infected one and others in contact. A good quality mask does the filtration of viral particles.
The use of double masking has also become more trustable with the second wave. Hence, masks are one of the trustable preventive measures to cut down transmission rates and viral spread.
Even if you are fully vaccinated, here are some risky places where the usage of masks must be.
Indoor Settings
Indoor spaces can become a high-risk setting for the spread of coronavirus. Whereas outdoor spaces can limit the virus spread up to a good extent. Cleaning, ventilation, and disinfection must need attention.
Gatherings of any kind
Gathering in huge numbers, not maintain social distancing, or a safety bubble can be a big threat. Weddings, funerals, wherever there may be chances of crowds collecting are not the wisest places to let the masks down.
Grocery Stores, Shopping Places
Generally, grocery stores and shopping spaces are considered the germiest places. Currently, also, they are high-risk places. Visiting these places is essential but it is crucial to have masks. As huge crowding happens here, we don’t know who is vaccinated. Hence, to limit the chances of infection, masking and sanitization are crucial. If you are vulnerable to risks then prefer visiting during non-peak hours and limit your visits too.
Public places and Modes of transport
As the coronavirus cases are decreasing, people are starting the travel. Hence, this leads to a lot of crowding. If you are planning to go out, there can be huge crowds, poor safety measures, which can put you at the risk of infection.
Moreover, traveling via a train, bus, or flight can put you at high risk of infection, no matter whether you are vaccinated or not. So, to keep yourself safe, wearing the mask is the best possible way.
