In the midst of the uproar over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech commemorating 100 crore vaccinations, the Opposition slammed both him and his government.
Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech commemorating the distribution of 100 crore vaccine doses, the opposition chastised Modi and the Centre for how they handled the occasion.
“The day after one billion…. A reminder,” tweeted Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, along with a cartoon depicting the distribution of one billion vaccine doses.
The cartoon depicts Modi succumbing to the pandemic, rising fuel prices, and general inflation.
In a series of tweets, a Karnataka Congress leader opined that while “1 billion doses” sounds impressive, “the devil is in the details.” Only about 21% of the world’s population, or 29 crore people, has had all of their vaccinations. I’m wondering what the BJP leaders are celebrating.
To meet the goal of vaccinating all children by the end of the year, India will need an additional 106 crore doses. In other words, you’ll need to take 1.51 doses per day.”
Manish Tewari, a Congress leader, also took to Twitter to express his displeasure with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It’s fascinating how PM works, he says. In terms of accepting responsibility for errors such as criminal negligence during the second COVID-19 wave, he is completely absent (MISSING IN ACTION). However, when it comes to taking credit, he is the first to go.”
The vaccination campaign was launched in January 2020, and as of Thursday, India had administered 100 crore doses of the vaccine.
