STORY: The story centers around Dheeraj Thakur and Maya, who fall in love despite the hatred between their families.

Dheeraj and Maya are born in a hamlet in Uttar Pradesh where running people down is a ritual. And these children belong to two of the village’s wealthiest men, who are bitter foes with no apparent basis for their hatred.
Dheeraj and Maya fall in love faster than reheated microwave meals.
Next: On the ‘dahej pratha,’ their dads perform. Sadly, instead of speaking out against the dowry system that still exists today, the girl threatens to light herself on fire or elope with her husband.
She even persuades the father to agree to the marriage while maintaining the dowry requirement. A dacoit and murderer on the run, with a reward of Rs 20 lakhs if caught alive, is the story’s twist.
The rest of the story is around how the manhunt for this dacoit affects Dheeraj and Maya’s wedding arrangements.
