Kia EV6 Bookings: Automaker Kia India on Thursday said it has commenced bookings for EV6 which is its first electric model in the country. Built on a dedicated EV platform – the E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform), the EV6 marks the beginning of the Electrical Vehicle journey of Kia in India.
Only 11 units of EV6, which comes as a CBU (Completely Built Unit), would be available for sales in the country this year. The imported model is scheduled to be launched in the country about next week.
The Kia EV6 can be booked with a token amount of 3 lakh INR exclusively through 15 select dealerships across 12 cities. Customers can book through the Kia India website also, it said in a statement.
“The Indian automotive industry is transforming, and Kia is also at the forefront of this transformation. We have proven it through our world-class products and services that offer not just to the unmet but also the unfelt need of Indians. The introduction of EV6 in India reiterates the same,” Kia India MD and CEO Tae-Jin Park said.
According to the statement, on a single full charge, the car can travel up to 528 KM and can sprint from 0 to 100 KM/H in just 5.2 seconds.
The vehicle can be charged from 10% to 80% in as little as 18 minutes using a 350KWH charger.
EV6 comes with AWD (All Wheel Drive) system (in select trims), multiple drive modes, a panoramic sunroof, lane keep assist, forward collision-avoidance assist, and over 60 connected features.
