An eyewitness in the drug trafficking case against Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan and others has claimed that Kiran Gosavi, the private investigator whose selfie with Aryan Khan drew attention, had planned to demand 25 crore from the superstar’s manager in order to settle the case.
A witness in the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) case who claims to be Mr Gosavi’s bodyguard stated that Mr Gosavi had planned to ask for 25 crore, agree on 18 crore and then pay 8 crore to Sameer Wankhede, the NCB’s zonal director, who has come under fire since allegations of pay-off surfaced.
Mr Sail also claimed that NCB officials, including Mr Wankhede, approached him in the early hours of October 2 and asked him to sign blank papers after the NCB had raided the cruise ship and detained Aryan Khan and other passengers.
“I had no idea that I was being held as a witness. I only went into the NCB office after I was summoned there and asked to sign some paperwork. Following my objections to signing blank papers, Sameer Wankhede informed me that nothing would happen unless I signed. Kiran Gosavi had also requested that I sign. I couldn’t have argued because there were so many officials present.” Mr Sail spoke to NDTV about his experiences.
Mr Sail claims that he was forced to sign on at least nine blank pages, and that the official who took his signature also took a soft copy of his Aadhaar card with him.
He went on to say that he did not see Aryan Khan until after he had signed the papers. “Aryan Khan was detained separately from the other defendants. I created the video in which Gosavi can be seen sitting next to Aryan, which you can see below. This is the interior of the NCB office “he explained.
In his allegations, Mr Sail claims that Mr Gosavi, a man named Sam D’Souza, and Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani met in a car to finalise the “deal.”
“Pooja Dadlani is well-known, so I was familiar with her. After I saw her, I went online and looked up her name “he explained.
Mr Sail claims that he overheard Mr Gosavi talking on the phone, allegedly to D’Souza, and that he reported it to the authorities. “The name SRK came to my attention. ‘We should ask SRK manager to give 25 crore, settle at 18, give 8 crore to Sameer Wankhede, and divide the remaining money,’ Gosavi suggested “…..
The cruise ship was raided by the NCB on October 3, according to Mr Sail, who claims he was asked to collect 50 lakh from the Mahalakshmi area on the following day. When he arrived, two men presented him with a bag, and Mr Gosavi and his wife left after he handed over the bag to them. “Gosavi didn’t even bother to pay me my wages. He had given me a check to use to pay for my children’s school fees, but the check had bounced “he explained.
Mr Sail stated that the last time he saw Mr Gosavi was on October 7. He went on to say that Mr Gosavi had called him on October 21 and informed him that he would be surrendering shortly.
In his statement, Mr Sail stated that, prior to the cruise ship party, Mr Gosavi had provided him with several photographs and asked him to keep an eye on the crowds.
In response to Mr Gosavi’s denial of the allegations against him, Mr Sail stated that he has additional evidence that he will present as soon as possible.
He stated that he is now concerned for his own safety. “My life is in jeopardy right now. My house has been visited by the police 8-9 times. Among those who have testified are myself, a second witness who is on the run, and a third witness who works for the BJP. I am straightforward, and no one appears to be rooting for me. It is for this reason that I have sought protection.”
