Fierce Electoral Contest Against YSRCP’s Mekapati Vikram Reddy
TIRUPATI: Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, the former finance minister, has forecasted a resounding victory for the NDA alliance in Andhra Pradesh in the upcoming 2024 elections.
Currently, Anam is engaged in a fierce electoral contest against the YSRCP’s incumbent MLA, Mekapati Vikram Reddy, in the Atmakur assembly constituency of Nellore district.
Campaign Highlights: Development and Neglected Projects
During his campaign in the Sangam and AS Peta mandals of the Atmakur assembly constituency on Friday, Anam urged the people to reflect on whether they had witnessed any development in the constituency under the YSRCP government.
He alleged, “Akin to the development being sidelined across the state, the Atmakur assembly constituency was also neglected as the ruling party MLA Mekapati Vikram Reddy failed to garner funds from the state govt for the development of the constituency”.
Focus on Neglected Canal Construction at Somasila
Anam also drew attention to the high-level canal construction at Somasila being neglected. He said, “Prime minister Narendra Modi and TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu have assured that all the pending irrigation projects in the state will be completed immediately after the NDA alliance forms the govts in AP as well as at the centre” .

The TDP candidate, a former finance minister, urged voters to compare the party’s and the YSRCP’s manifestos, claiming that the TDP-led NDA alliance will successfully strike the ideal balance between development and social programs. In the approaching elections, he urged the people to back the NDA coalition.
