Global Day of Parents 2024: Parents are the foundation of the life of children. They devote their whole life selflessly to the needs and happiness of their children without asking for anything in return. The UN (United Nations) believes that families are the foundation of the upbringing of the child. Every child should be nurtured in an environment that is caring, loving, and harmonious. After reaching a certain age, children should also nurture their parents with the same love.

Every year, a theme is decided to celebrate Parents’ Day. In 2020, the Global Day of Parents theme was dedicated to all the parents globally who spend their lives running behind their kids. The Parents’ Day 2024 theme is Appreciate All Parents Throughout the World.
Global Day of Parents History & Significance
On September 17, 2012, UNGA (United Nations General Assembly) passed the resolution 66/292 to observe June 1st as the Global Parents Day. The day is proclaimed to honor the role of parents in a child’s life.
According to the UPF (Universal Peace Federation), a child should be brought up in a positive family environment to have a harmonious development. Keeping in view all these points, the United Nations passed the resolution and declared the Global Parents Day.
In many parts of the world, Parents Day is celebrated on various dates. The United States observes this day on the fourth Sunday of July, South Korea celebrates it on May 8 every year.
