The Keshav Chandra Datt is one of the Hockey legends in India. He was a member of the Indian Hockey team which bagged gold medals in the 1948 and 1952 Olympics. He took his last breath on Tuesday night, because of some health-related problems.
Gyanendro Ningombam, Hockey India President said “On hearing Keshav Datt’s demise in this morning, we all become sadden. Today, we are truly feeling like an end of an era. He was only the surviving person of Olympic games conducted in 1948 and 1952.”
He further said, “On his demise, Hockey India is mourning and on behalf of the Hockey federation, my deepest condolences to his family.”
