IIT JAM 2022: In a truly inspiring development, an under-trail prisoner, Suraj Kumar alias Kaushlendra (23) lodged at Nawada divisional jail, cleared the JAM (Joint Admission Test for Masters) 2022 conducted by the IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), Roorkee. The exam was conducted on 13th February 2022 at various exam centers across the country.
JAM is a common admission test conducted every year for admission to Master of Science & other post-graduate science programs at IIT, integrated Ph.D. courses at IISc, Bangalore, and some other government-funded institutes.
Suraj, a native of Mosma village is lodged in jail since 17th April 2021, but he continued his studies to develop his skills.
As per the sources, Suraj earlier studied at Kota in Rajasthan to prepare for the Engineering examination. In March 2021, a clash between two groups at Mosma village over a drain dispute led to the death of Sanjay Yadav. A case was lodged against 11 persons including Suraj, on the basis of the statement of the deceased’s father. Suraj was one among four accuded arrested in this connection and sent to jail.
