Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday told the FICCI Annual Meeting that India would be the fastest growing country in the world by the end of the current financial year.

Addressing the 94th Annual Meeting of FICCI today, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Indian economy has reached pre-corona levels, with India’s GDP growing by 8.4 per cent in the July-September quarter, and that India expects to be the fastest growing country in the world by the end of the 2024-22 financial year.

Home Minister Amit Shah told the gathering that India was leading in 19 of the 22 factors that predict the Indian economy, which shows that India has recovered from its predicament.

And India’s manufacturing and services sector index has touched the previous level of corona. This growth is mainly due to various schemes and relaxations announced by the Central Government. Amit Shah also said that the country’s inflation is at the Reserve Bank’s target of 4-6 per cent growth.

Addressing the gathering, Amit Shah also spoke about the importance of the MSME sector and said that it would encourage and strengthen the MSME sector to alleviate unemployment in the country. In the meantime, he noted the need to invest more in the R&D sector.
FICCI system
He said the FICCI should identify the sectors that have the highest growth potential for the next 25 years and lead the country on the path of economic growth, adding that the FICCI is likely to work with the government on a program like the Spiritual Correspondent of the Union Government, Bharat.
Opposition parties in a series of sittings adjourned until the 20th of this month
New Delhi: Opposition parties in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies have been adjourned till December 20 as they continue to rally behind the suspension of 12 MPs.
They were unable to attend this winter session as 12 MPs were suspended for their involvement in the amalgamation last winter session.
Opposition groups called for the beleagured PM to resign over the issue.

The winter session of Parliament this morning was as usual. Twelve MPs in both houses of parliament have been embroiled in controversy over the suspension. Opposition groups chanted slogans calling for an end to the protests, including in Lakhimpur. Opposition parties in the Lok Sabha have been urging the resignation of Union Home Minister Ajay Mishra over the Lakhimpur issue. The Lok Sabha was adjourned till the afternoon due to a series of protests by the opposition.
Execution of 3 Bills
Later in the afternoon, when they met, Union Health Minister Bharathi Pawar tabled three bills, including the surrogacy regulation bill. Some changes were made to the surrogacy regulation bill issued in 2019 and tabled in the state legislature. New bills were tabled in the Lok Sabha. But members of the opposition continued to lash out. However, the bill was passed with the support of members of the ruling and coalition parties. Following this, Rajendra Agarwal, who chaired the House, adjourned the Lok Sabha till the 20th.

Meanwhile, the opposition in the state assembly continued to squabble over the suspension of 12 MPs, including the Lakhimpur affair. They besieged the chair as they carried banners with their demands. Their leader Venkaiah Naidu said the two sides should work together to find a solution so that the process could run smoothly and adjourned the state assembly till Monday.
We will not apologize
Speaking to reporters, opposition leader Mallikarjun Karge said the government should apologize to the suspended MPs. There is no chance of that happening. The government should withdraw the suspension measure. He said the ruling party was not ready to talk about it.
