Kerala Imposes Complete Lockdown on July 17, 18, Due To The Rise in Covid Cases: The coronavirus cases are increasing in Kerala state. Because of this, the state government of Kerala imposes complete lockdown on 17th & 18th July.
The government said that the current categorization of the LSGIs (Local Self-Government Institutions) depending on the seven-day average Test Positivity Rate (TPR) will continue.
The order read that the complete lockdown will be imposed on July 17,18 with the same guidelines that are issued for June 12 and 13.
Recently, the reclassification of the LSG bodies is also done based on the last seven days’ average TPR.
Totally, 165 local bodies are there in the different categories. They are 165 in category A (TPR less than 6 percent), 473 in category B (6-12 percent TPR), 316 in category C (12-18 percent TPR), and 80 in category D (TPR more than 18 percent).
According to the order, the public will be allowed to banks, on all five days of operation.
In the categories, A, B, C, shops can be opened till 8 pm on the days that they are allowed.
The collectors are directed to announce micro-containment zones and restrictions in A, B, C categories after the analysis of the number of active cases, TPR, and other factors.
From 15th July, 12 am, the guidelines will be effected.
In recent times, the researchers of the Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMSc), Chennai said Kerala and Northeastern states have become concerned regions.
Sitabhra Sinha, the research team lead said, “a brief spike in the cases is shown in Kerala. The Northeast region is in the same position. Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Tripura are showing a spike in the cases.”
