On the occasion of the first anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP), PM Narendra Modi addressed the nation today at 4.30 pm. For this event, many ministers, teachers, and students have attended. PM Modi congratulated and lauded everyone’s efforts for the effective implementation of NEP 2020. The entire program was addressed virtually by Modi.
PM Modi launched several initiatives as a part of the implementation of NEP 2020. Some of the major initiatives are Structured Assessment for Analyzing Learning Levels (SAFAL), the launch of Academic Bank of Credit for UG/PG students, NISHTHA 2.0, National Education Technology Forum (NETF), and National Digital Education Architecture (NDEAR).
Event Highlights
- Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan started the event by addressing the audience and appreciated everyone’s efforts in the NEP 2020 implementation.
- PM Narendra Modi virtually played the videos. By these, various education schemes and initiatives were launched.
- The launched initiatives are – Indian Sign Language as a subject, the Launch of Vidya Pravesh, NISHTHA 2.0, SAFAL, Academic Bank of Credit, website AI for public awareness, 1st year engineering programs in regional languages, NDEAR & NETF.
- 14 engineering colleges in 8 states will offer education in 5 different Indian languages, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, and Bangle.
- Indian Sign Language has been designated as a subject to help differently-abled people.
- A 3-month play-based school preparation module, Vidya Prakash will be implemented for class 1 students and given the status of a universal program. This is a 3-month play-based school preparation module.
- In CBSE schools, SAFAL, a competency-based assessment framework will be implemented for Classes 3, 5, and 8.
- AI (Artificial Intelligence) will have a dedicated and separate website that will help students to learn more about the subject.
