Prime Minister Modi’s cabinet seems to have 81 members. At present, 53 members are there. So, 28 members are going to add now.
The cabinet expansion is going to do probably, for the first time of Modi’s second term. The names of Jyotiraditya Scindia, Anupriya Patel, Sushil Modi, Sarbananda Sonowal are buzzing as new arrivals into the cabinet.
Last year, to form the Madhya Pradesh government, the Jyotiraditya Scindia’s separation from the Congress party has favored a lot for the BJP. Sarbananda Sonowal has cleared the way for the BJP to win in the Assam elections. Anupriya Patel is one of probably, who is leading the Apna Dal, a BJP alliance in Uttar Pradesh. Anupriya worked as a union minister during Modi’s first tenure. BJP MPs, Rita Bahuguna Joshi, and Varun Gandhi might be placed in the cabinet.
A theory of Janta Dal joining with the central government, to get the minister positions is also coming out, as per the recent visit of Bihar’s CM Nitish Kumar to New Delhi. Bihar and Maharashtra leaders, Sushil Modi, Narayan Rane, and Bhupendra Yadav could be in the cabinet. The reshuffle and expansion of the cabinet will be done after the review of the minister’s performance. The reshuffle is due to the deaths and resignations of some ministers.
