As part of a crackdown on corrupt officials, Karnataka officials allegedly raided the home of Shantha Biradar, an engineer with the Public Works Department (PWD).
The Karnataka Anti-Corruption Bureau raided the home of a Public Works Development Corporation engineer and discovered wads of cash dug out of pipelines (PWD).
According to officials, a raid on Shantha Gowda Biradar’s home in the Kalburgi district of the state has resulted from an investigation into alleged corruption in the state government.
Mr. Biradar’s home was raided by the Anti-Corruption Bureau, who discovered 25 lakh in cash and a large amount of gold. After officials discovered the cash, a plumber was called in to extract the wads of currency notes from the pipes at the PWD joint engineer’s home.
This was caught on camera by the cops and the plumber while they were removing pipes and retrieving cash from them. These show pipes were installed in the house to hide money.
The home of Mr. Biradar was raided as part of an investigation into corrupt state officials. In connection with 15 disproportionate asset cases involving 15 officials, the Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted 60 searches.
The bureau recently raided the Bengaluru Development Authority’s office.
When asked about corruption, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai recently stated that the state government will not tolerate it.
“Our government will not tolerate corruption. Anyone convicted of a crime is not immune from prosecution.” That’s exactly what he said.
According to the state’s chief minister, the state government will take action based on the findings of the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
