IT companies were the first to voluntarily allow employees to work from home when the corona vulnerability in India was at its worst. The country’s leading IT companies TCS, Infosys and HCL have taken a key decision to protect their employees in the event of an Omigron virus outbreak.
IT Department
In the IT industry, it’s normal for employees to work from home from time to time, but for the first time in history, IT companies have given 100 percent of their work’s homework to all employees at risk, such as the business impact of working from home, the physical impact of corona infection on employees, and the impact on income.
Corona infection
Despite the declining number of corona infections in India, the Omigron virus has been on the rise in many states across the country as IT companies have been bringing their employees to the office part by part for the past 3 months as most employees have been given vaccine protection.
Tata Consultancy Services
Tata Consultancy Services, India’s largest IT services company, has already invited 90 per cent of its employees to the office, while only 10 per cent of its associate employees work from home.
Cycle mode
Due to the current outbreak of the Omigron virus it has been decided to call in a planned number of employees, or to allow employees already working from the office to work temporarily or in rotation from home.
Infosys
Infosys, a fellow competitor of Indian software exporter TCS, has said in its Bangalore office that it is taking a cautious approach in view of the newly spreading Omigron virus vulnerability. This will give Infosys employees the opportunity to work from home for the next few months.
HCL Technologies
HCL, which has recently been accused of paying H1B visa workers too little in the United States, has announced that it will monitor the spread of the newly-spread Covid 19 variant of the virus Omigron and then decide whether to call employees to the office.
10 percent employees
Currently only 10 per cent of the staff in the HCL Tech office are employed while the rest of the staff work from home. In this context HCL has announced that it will continue its hybrid model for the next few weeks or months.
