On Thursday, two police officers allegedly assaulted an Additional District and Sessions Court Judge (ASJ) in Bihar’s Madhubani district while he was in the middle of hearings.
Station House Officer (SHO) Gopal Prasad and sub-inspector Abhimanyu Kumar of the Ghoghardiha police station were scheduled to testify before a judge about a case. They allegedly assaulted the judge, Avinash Kumar, and pointed a firearm at him as they entered the courtroom.
Many lawyers and court personnel are also said to have been injured as a result of the judge’s protection.
According to sources, Avinash Kumar’s decisions are still making headlines. In his decisions, he has also made a number of disparaging remarks about the district’s police superintendent.
He described it as an attempt to stifle justice, and the vice-president of the Jhanjharpur Bar Association agreed.

In the absence of a judicial investigation, the lawyers of the Bar Association threatened to go on strike.
