Unfair To Blame Pakistan For The Unrest in Afghanistan – Imran Khan: The Afghanistan leaders appealed to Pakistan to not allow the Taliban operations from its land. For this, Pakistan PM Imran Khan has said that it is very unfair to blame Pakistan for the Afghanistan unrest. While speaking at the Central-South Asia conference in Uzbekistan, Khan said that Islamabad is concerned about Afghanistan’s deteriorating situation.
On Thursday, while addressing a joint press conference with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Tashkent, Imran said, “the Afghan people have suffered for 40 years and Pakistan will help to ease the peace in that country.”
He was quoted as, “As neighbors, we are feeling them like our brothers, there should be peace and peaceful political settlement. So, we discussed and resolved that with neighbors like Iran, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkey. We will help and try to facilitate peace in Afganistan.”
Afghan FM tells Pak: Restrict terror funding to Taliban
Imran Khan’s defensive statement came after the Afghanistan FM Mohammed Haneef Atmar’s words. The Foreign Minister told his Pakistani counterpart to restrict the infrastructure to the Taliban terrorists, which is allowing them to operate from Pakistan’s land. He also urged Pakistan to restrict the funding sources to the Taliban.
After the decision of the US troops to withdraw from Afghanistan, violence is rising in the country. earlier this week, a key post in the Afghanistan-Pakistan border was captured by the Taliban fighters. Taliban supporters were also spotted in Quetta, a Pakistani city.
