World Rose Day for cancer patients is celebrated every year across the globe in memory of Melinda Rose, who is a 12-year old Canadian girl diagnosed with rare blood cancer, Askin’s Tumour.
According to the doctors, she had very few days to live, but because of her undying fighting spirit, Rose went on to live for the next 6 months.
Many lives were inspired by Rose’s spirit. Hence, World Rose Day was named after her to honor the brave journey.
