After being charged under the SC/ST Act, Bollywood actress Yuvika Chaudhary was granted interim bail by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
According to Hansi (Haryana) police, Bollywood actor Yuvika Chaudhary has joined the investigation after making disparaging remarks about Scheduled Castes on social media.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court granted her interim bail after she was charged under the SC/ST Act.
“My client has joined the investigation in accordance with the High Court’s guidelines, and she is now on interim bail in a case of alleged offensive remarks against Scheduled Castes on a social media platform,” Yuvika Chaudhary’s lawyer, Ashok Bishnoi, said.
Rajat Kalsan, the complainant, filed a case against her at the Hansi police station in Haryana under the Scheduled Castes and Tribes Atrocities Act.
In his complaint, he claimed that the actor made derogatory remarks about the Scheduled Caste group.
Ms Chaudhary apologised on Twitter after her video went viral and sparked outrage, claiming she didn’t know what the word in question meant.
She apologised to everyone, writing on Twitter, “Hello guys, I didn’t know the meaning of that word in my last vlog, I didn’t mean to hurt anyone and I can never do that to hurt someone.”
