Super Star Krishna: Veteran Telugu actor Krishna died on November 15, 2002, Tuesday at a private super-specialty hospital in Hyderabad where he was undergoing treatment following a cardiac arrest.
Suoer Star Krsihna age was 80 years.
Mr. Krishna, the father of Mahesh Babu was admitted to the hospital in the early hours of Monday and was on Ventilator.
Actor Krishna was being treated by a multi-disciplinary team of doctors following the cardiac arrest. He passed away at 4 am on Tuesday, hospital sources said.
Krishna, originally Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy, had acted in 350 movies and was one of the top actors during his time. He was also a successful producer and director. Ghattamaneni Krishna was honored with the Padma Bhushan in the year 2009.
Mr. Krishna was also the father-in-law of TDP (Telugu Desam Party) leader and MP Galla Jayadev. He had joined the Congress party and became an MP in the 1980s but left politics after the death of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Superstar Krishna’s wife and Mahesh Babu’s mother Indira Devi passed away in September this year. His elder son Ramesh babu died in January 2024. Actress Vijaya Nirmala, who was Krishna’s second wife died in the year 2019.
