Aamir Khan had recently expressed his regret for taking his family for granted while he was busy in the Bollywood Industry winning the hearts of his fans.
Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao announced their divorce in July last year after 15 years of their marriage.
On Saturday, the actor opened up about examining his life decision over the past couple of years. He announced that he regrets being away from his family for so many years that he has decided to quit the film industry to make up for his good memories and leisure time.
Amir said at the ABP Ideas event in Mumbai that he got angry with himself and the industry taking over his life. Due to cinema, he decided to quit acting as well as producing. He also told that his wife broke down after hearing his decision to quit the industry. Even his children consoled Aamir and asked him to reconsider his decision. The actor first opted not to talk about his intention to retire from the film industry on record as certain people could take this as a marketing gimmick for his next movie ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’.
Khan said the last two years had been challenging for him as he was so stressed about his family and films and instead, he had to strive for balance in life, rather becoming an “extreme person’’.
When he realized his mistake, he decided to leave the film industry as he believed that the industry had caused a rift between him and his family.
Aamir Khan was last featured in his 2018 film ‘Thugs of Hindustan’ and will be seen next in Laal Singh Chaddha which is an official remake of Tom Hank’s ‘Forrest Grump’.
