Hyderabad
AP leaders have begun to put pressure on the Center to maintain Hyderabad as the joint capital after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy prioritized resolving outstanding issues between the Telugu states.
According to V.V. Lakshminarayana, the founder of the recently formed Bharat National Party and a former IPS officer, the Centre needs to step in and extend the clause that maintains Hyderabad as the joint capital of the Telugu states till the AP government decides on a capital.
Additionally, he exhorted other AP parties to persuade President Draupadi Murmu to follow suit.
Kolanukonda Shivaji, the vice president of the AP Congress, recently asked that Hyderabad continue to serve as the joint capital through 2034.
It should be mentioned that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has ordered officials to seize all AP government-controlled buildings in Telangana and compile a thorough report on the assets that still need to be divided between the two states because Hyderabad will no longer serve as the joint capital on June 2.
He had given his officials a precise agenda outlining the issues that needed to be rectified, including allocating public assets valued at much to Rs 1.4 lakh crore. The authorities were requested to provide information on every topic on which both nations have come to an agreement.
The split of several pending organizations and companies listed in Schedules 9 and 10 of the AP Reorganisation Act, which were not cleared because of a lack of agreement between the two states, has been the main focus of Telangana officials. It’s still unclear what the power providers owe.
Revanth Reddy also instructed the officials to concentrate on matters such as personnel transfers that are amenable to a peaceful resolution. He instructed them to defend Telangana’s interests in any ongoing legal disputes.
