Aparna Yadav is the wife of Akhilesh Yadav’s brother Pratik Yadav, who is standing for the UP elections in 2024.
Aparna Yadav, who is married to Akhilesh Yadav’s brother, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), dealing a blow to the Samajwadi Party only weeks before the Uttar Pradesh election.
Aparna Yadav is the younger daughter of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav and the wife of Akhilesh Yadav’s brother Pratik Yadav. BJP leaders referred to her as “Mulayam Singh’s bahu (daughter-in-law)” when welcoming her to the party.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always encouraged me,” Aparna Yadav stated, wearing a BJP scarf.
“I’d like to want to do better for the country now.” I’ve always been impressed by the BJP’s plans, and I’ll do everything I can to support them.
Keshav Maurya, Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister, stood by her side and launched shots at Akhilesh Yadav.
Mr. Maurya sneered, “I want to welcome her and say that Akhilesh Yadav has failed in both his family and politics.”
Aparna Yadav, he said, decided to join the BJP after many days of discussion.
She has previously made headlines for her effusive appreciation of Prime Minister Modi.
Her meeting with Yogi Adityanath in 2017 gained a lot of attention, as did photographs of the two of them at cow shelters. Over the years, there was speculation that she was turning towards the BJP.
