Renowned Bengali actor Abhishek Chatterjee died on 24th March in Kolkata. According to the news agency PTI which quoted his family members, Mr. Chaterjee suffered a massive cardiac arrest. On Wednesday, the 58-year-old Bengali actor had complained of uneasiness in the stomach during the shooting of a non-fiction show and was later administered saline at his residence, the family members further said.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted, “Sad to hear the demise of our actor Abhishek Chatterjee. He was talented and versatile in his acting, and we shall miss him. It is a great loss to our film industry and TV serials. My condolences to Abhishek’s family and friends.”
Mr. Abhishek Chatarjee’s co-actor in various movies like Lathi, Sankha Sidurer Dibbi, Sujansakhi, Rituparna Sengupta said, he had set a new benchmark in commercial movies and will always remain in the hearts of the audience.
Mr. Chatterjee made his debut in the Bengali Film Industry in the year 1986 with the movie Pathbola. Over his 35-year career, he worked with veteran actors such as Prosenjit Chatterjee and Utpal Dutt Sandhya Roy. Some of the popular movies of Abhishek Chaterjee are Alo, Dahan, and Borivali.
