In January this year, a controversy had erupted after China released a video that had its soldiers unfurling their national flag in the Galwan Valley. The Chinese state media had claimed that the flag was unfurled on the new year occasion at the place where the troops and Chinese and Indian armies had clashed on 15th June 2020.
However, the Indian army had rejected the claims that the flag was unfurled in the buffer zone that was established after the Galwan Valley clash.
A Twitter user who tracks open-source intelligence has posted a satellite image and stated that the PLA troops had unfurled the flag about 1.2 kms from the site of the clash. He said that the ceremony was held at a new PLA post which was located outside the demilitarized zone.
On 4th January, Indian Army sources had rejected the claims that the spot where the Chinese flag was unfurled in the disputed area. The Indian Army had also released showing its troops proudly holding the Tricolor in Galwan valley, to bust the lies being peddled by the PLA.
