Indian Shooting Contingent Lands in Amsterdam From Zagreb – For Tokyo Olympics: The Indian shooting contingent for Tokyo Olympics 2020 has reached Amsterdam from their Zagreb base, Croatia. On Friday night, they will fly to Tokyo.

On Saturday morning, the Indian shooting team will land in Tokyo. They have the first competition on July 24.
At ISSF World Cup in New Delhi and Croatia, the Indian team had shown medal-winning performance. In New Delhi, 52 shooters competed whereas, in Croatia, only 14 have participated. Hence the medal count is more in Delhi than in Croatia.
For Tokyo 2020, the Indian Shooting squad consists of Divyansh Singh Panwar, Sanjeev Rajput, Deepak Kumar, Saurabh Chaudhary, Abhishek Verma, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Mairaj Ahmad Khan, Apurvi Chandela, Elavenil Valarivan, Angad Vir Singh Bajwa, Tejaswini Sawant, Manu Bhaker, Anjum Moudgil, Rahi Sarnobat, and Yashaswini Singh Deswal.
From India, a total of 126 athletes of 18 sports disciplines will be participating in the Olympics. Up to now, this is the biggest Indian contingent to the Olympics games. The 69 cumulative events are also the highest ever for the country.
Earlier, ace Indian weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu departed for Tokyo 2020. She underwent training of 50 days in the US, under the national coach Vijay Sharma and assistant coach Sandip Kumar. The Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) sanctioned the training.
