Jhulan Goswami: Veteran Indian bowler Jhulan Goswami achieved a huge milestone on Wednesday when she took her first wicket against England. Goswami at the age of 39 years, after dismissing Tammy Beaumont, becomes the first’s women cricketer to take 250 wickets in a women’s ODI.
Goswami is the only bowler to take over 200 wickets in women’s ODI history.
Earlier she had created history by becoming the first player in the women’s WC to take 40 wickets alone. She has been lauded by numerous cricket stars for her contribution.
She trapped Beaumont of Australia in front of stumps to grab her 250th ODI wicket and became the seventh Indian overall (men’s and women’s) cricketer. India made a winning start to the 2024 Women’s WC, achieving a 107 runs victory over Pakistan in their openings.
In her 22 years of cricketing career. Jhulan Goswami has accomplished the 40th wicket in the showpiece event and overshadowed Australia’s Lynette Fallston. Australia’s Cathryn Fitzpatrick and Windies Anisa Mohammad are tied in second place.
