Karnataka Cabinet Expansion: The swearing-in ceremony of new cabinet ministers took place at Raj Bhavan. The Karnata Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot administrated the oath to the newly appointed Council of ministers.
Former RDPR minister Eshwarappa, former Deputy CM Govind Karjol took oath followed by B Sreeramulu and R Ashoka.
The next ministers to take the oath were Umesh Katti, S Angara, V Somanna, J C Madhuswamy, Araga Juanendra, C C Patil, C N Ashwathnarayana, and Anand Singh.
On Wednesday, 29 MLAs took the oath. There will be no Deputy CM this time, as per the CM Basavaraj Bommai.
The list of ministers who took oath includes – Eshwarappa, R Ashok, Ashwath Narayan, Govind Karjol, Sriramulu, Somanna, Madhuswamy, CC Patil, Anand Singh, Gopalaiah, Byrathi Basavaraj, ST Somashekar, BC Patil, Sudhakar, Prabhu Chauhan, Shivaram Hebbar, Umesh Katti, S Angara, Murugesh Nirani, Narayan Gowda, V Sunil Kumar, Alappa Achaar, Araga Gyanendra, MTB Nagaraj, Kota Srinivas Pujari, BC Nagesh, Munirathna, Shankar Patil Munnenakoppa.
8 Lingayats, 7 Vokkaligas, 7 OBC, 3 SC, 1 ST, 1 Reddy, and 1 woman are part of the cabinet, Bommai added.
On Monday, Basavaraj Bommai landed in Delhi to discuss Karnataka Cabinet Expansion with BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) National President JP Nadda.
On Monday, after meeting Nadda, the Chief Minister said that he had a detailed discussion with the national president and also explained the ground situation of the state.
This was the second visit of Bommai to Delhi. On 30th July, he had met PM Narendra Modi.
He also met several union ministers including Defence Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and others, during the two-day visit to Delhi earlier.
Two days later BD Yediyurappa’s resignation, on 28th July Bommai took oath as the 23rd CM of Karnataka.
