A 20-year-old model cum actress was found dead at her residence near Kozhikode city, Kerala. According to the police, on Thursday night, Shahana was found hanging at their residence. Her husband Sajjad (31) has been taken into custody for questioning.
Shahana was found hanging on the window railing at her residence in Parambil Bazar, which is located 14 lm from Kozhikode city.
Shahana’s mother Uveyma alleged that Shahana was murdered by her husband Sajjad. She claimed that Sajjad had threatened to kill Shahana if she refused to hand over the cheque she had got for an advertisement.
Shahana had married Kozhikode native Sajjad just one and a half years ago. Sajjad was working in Qatar when they got married.
Uveyma said that Shahana had started her modeling career after the marriage and also used to act in Tamil movies. Sajjad refused to go to Qatar after Shahana started to earn so much money.
Shahana’s relatives also alleged that Sajjad’s family had asked for a dowry of 25 sovereigns of gold jewelry. After marriage also, Sajjad allegedly harassed Shahana’s family for much more dowry.
After the Shahana was found dead at her residence, the Kerala police have taken Sajjad into custody.
