Lal Bahadur Shastri Death Anniversary 2024: The second Prime Minister of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri was passed away on 11th January 1966 in Tashkent (present-day Uzbekistan). He campaigned White Revolution and Green Revolution. Shastri also gave the slogan ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’.
Lal Bahadur Shastri was posthumously honored with the Bharat Ratna and he was the first posthumous Bharat Ratna recipient. He first worked as a Home Minister of India and later took over as the Prime Minister on 9th June 1964 after the demise of Jawaharlal Nehru.
