People who complete their vaccinations by Wednesday will receive a 10% discount from three Mandsaur city liquor stores, according to an order issued earlier that day by district excise officer Anil Sachan.
Withdrawn: A 10% discount on country liquor for those who obtain their second An official says the COVID-19 vaccine jab has been withdrawn from the Madhya Pradesh district of Mandsaur following criticism from politicians and social media users.
It was announced earlier this week that three liquor stores in Mandsaur city would offer a 10% discount on country liquor to people who finished their vaccinations on Wednesday.
This morning, Sachan made the announcement that the directives in this area had been cancelled.
Following that, he explained that the order was intended to aid in the region’s vaccination efforts.
Yaashpal Singh Sisodiya, a BJP MLA from Mandsaur, said the order was inappropriate.
According to Mr Sisodiya, who claimed in a tweet that the move would only encourage more people to drink, the state government had no say in the matter.
The order states that country liquor will be 10% off at three locations: Sitamau Fatak, Bhuniakhedi, and Old Bus Stand.
On Wednesday, the state of Madhya Pradesh launched a massive coronavirus vaccination campaign.
