National Girl Child Day 2024: The Indian government and Ministry of Women & Child Development initiated and introduced National Girl Child Day. Every year on 24th January, India marks National Girl Child Day, and the main motive to celebrate this day is to create awareness about the girl child’s rights. and girl education, health, and difficulties they face like physical abuse, gender inequality, etc.

In the year 2008, the Ministry of Women and Child Development initiated the National Girl Child Day. The main aim of this day is to spread awareness about gender-based discrimination.
In order to improve the condition of girls, the Indian government has taken many steps over the years like Save the Girl Child, free or subsidized education for the girl children, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, women reservations, etc.
