Veteran Odia movie and theatre actor Raimohan Parida was found dead on Friday at his residence in Prachi Vihar area, Bhubaneswar, Police said.
Parida was aged 58 and is survived by his wife and two daughters.
His family members found him dead in the morning. Prima facie, it seems to be a suicide case but further investigation is underway, a police officer said, the body will be sent for post-mortem examination. Many actors visited the residence of Parida to pay tributes and express condolences.
Known for essaying negative roles, Parida has acted in more than 100 Odia movies and 15 Bengali movies.
Parida’s neighbors said they met him on Thursday and he appeared his usual self.
A native of Keonjhar district, Parida had acted in several superhit movies, including ‘Aasibu Kebe Saji Mo Rani’, ‘Naga Panchami’, ‘Rama Laxman’, ‘Rana Bhumi’, ‘Singha Bahini’, ‘Udandi Sita’, ‘Tu Thile Mo Dara Kahaku’, ‘Kandhei Aakhire Luha’, and ‘Kulanandan’.
