Is it discrimination only for the villagers .. Do this immediately .. Petition of Tamil Nadu MPs to the Union Minister
New Delhi: Public transport in India has been paralyzed for several months due to a corona infection that has been raging for a year and a half. Following this, road traffic slowed down somewhat.
But air and rail transport have not fully recovered. Express trains are the only mode of transport used by the middle class. Passenger trains in various states are not yet fully operational. Operating at low fares between small towns has been a boon for commuters to school, college and college.
Petition of Tamil Nadu MPs
There are constant demands from various quarters to run passenger trains. In this situation, Tamil Nadu MPs S. Venkatesh and Dr. Veerachamy have submitted a petition to the Union Railway Minister Aswini Wisnav asking him to run an unprecedented passenger train and add extra unprecedented compartments to the trains.
The passenger train is not running
According to a statement issued by the two, the normal passenger trains were canceled due to the general freeze announced after the major outbreak. In 2019-20, 3,715 ordinary passenger trains ran. Express trains and suburban trains were also canceled when they were canceled. Of these, 500 trains that ran over 200 km were converted into express trains. But even after express trains and suburban transport trains were opened to essential commuters, ordinary passenger trains continued to operate.
A boon to the villages
Also, public boxes are not included in express trains. Ordinary passenger carriages make up 22 percent of the total passengers. All of these are mostly rural people. These ordinary carts were very useful for transporting their goods from the villages to the adjoining cities every day and for the students to travel to the cities to study and work in the city. It was quite possible for the rural people to go at very low rates as they were given season tickets.
Adverse action
The general freeze has been phased out and even though express trains and suburban trains have started operating to some extent, the non-operation of ordinary passenger trains is a major disadvantage for the rural population.
It is possible for passengers to travel widely if ordinary passenger carriages are also operated along with buses to create social space.
Request
The social gap will also be fulfilled. So it is not fair to say that passenger carriages are not operated for this reason. This is discrimination against rural people. Therefore, ordinary passenger trains should be run immediately to help the rural people. He also asked the Railway Minister to attach public boxes in express trains for ordinary people. Thus stated in the petition.
Overall, the petition stated by MPs S Venkatesh and Dr Veerachami of Tamilnadu requested to Union Minister Aswini Vaishna to run a passenger train on sort of common villagers welfare.
