AIADMK co-ordinator and former Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi Palanisamy has accused bribery of rampant corruption in the last seven months of the DMK rule and to the tune of about 6,000 crore in indian Rupees during the ruling period of Dravidar Munnetra kalagam (DMK)
A consultative meeting was held with Omalur AIADMK executives in Salem district. Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, AIADMK Co-ordinator and Leader of the Opposition in Tamil Nadu Edappadi K. Palanisamy attended the meeting and gave advice to the executives.
A press conference was held at the District Council premises after the consultation. Speaking on the occasion, Edappadi Palanisamy leveled various allegations against the DMK government. He said law and order was not good, especially during the DMK regime, and that complaints were being made against former AIADMK ministers for diverting people.
Corruption to the tune of Rs 6,000 crore
The only regime dissolved for corruption was the DMK. Edappadi Palanisamy, who claims to be in power, said there were numerous corruption cases and complaints against more than 10 DMK ministers and executives, and that the anti-corruption department was targeting only the AIADMK, which had not taken any action on the pending cases.
He also said that bribery was rampant in all sectors in Tamil Nadu and accused the DMK of embezzling about Rs 6,000 crore in various sectors within seven months of coming to power.
DMK is distracting people
During the last assembly elections, 525 promises were made on behalf of the DMK, but most of the promises were not kept, especially due to the non-fulfillment of the NT exam, the increase in the allowance for the disabled and the 5,000 allowance per month for housewives. Edappadi Palanisamy also said that raids were being carried out on the houses of former AIADMK ministers to divert people.
The ADMK cannot be shaken
Edappadi Palanisamy said that the AIADMK could not be shaken by trials and retaliation and that the cases filed by the police would be dealt with legally.
They are blocking the plans of the DMK and AIADMK which came to power through the backyard by making false promises.
He said the DMK government had no concern for the people of the country.
The AIADMK has been making false allegations against former ministers to cover up the failure to deliver on its promises made during the forthcoming assembly elections.
He said the DMK government, which was powerless to confront the AIADMK politically, was conducting raids through the anti-corruption department to divert people.
Struggle on behalf of AIADMK
With the AIADMK announcing the biggest protest on the 17th, it is expected that the protest will provoke an uprising among the people.
He said that such raids would be carried out to disable it and that the AIADMK, which had the largest volunteer force, would not be intimidated by it and that the struggle would go ahead as planned.
Edappadi Palanisamy said that he had promised to reduce the price of petrol and diesel, but did not reduce the price of diesel by a slight reduction.
