Innovative cheating .. People only get caught up in this .. RBI advice to bank customers!
Chennai: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has again issued a tip-off to its customers due to the growing number of frauds in recent times.
A lot of fraudulent gangs have sprung up across the country to steal money from bank accounts. In the beginning they used to put skimmer in the ATM machine and make fake ATM cards and thereby do fraudulent work. Nowadays it has become an old technique.
Nowadays people call bank customers directly and claim that they are transferring their bank account and asking for the number 16 above the card, sir. Many fraudulent gangs, mainly from North India, have a habit of committing such scams in half Tamil.
RBI
The RBI had repeatedly warned people to be safe and cautious against such scams. Even recently it was found that a North Indian gang had rolled over several lakhs by taking money from a State Bank ATM deposit machine and hiding the sensor and committing fraud as if it was not taking money. The gang was caught red-handed and arrested.
Fraud again
The RBI has said that frauds are now starting to target bank customers. Most ATM cards expire in 2024. As a result, many people are forced to renew their credit and debit cards. It is using this that fraud is currently taking place. They cheat using the same old method.
ATM card
Your card is about to expire. It needs to be renewed. They ask you to tell them your card number and then ask for Odipiyam and they get involved in fraud. The RBI has said the incident has been on the rise for the past two months. A lot of complaints are starting to come to the banks in this regard.
Advice
Thus the RBI is advising people not to get caught up in this innovative old fraudulent system. Anyone who calls asking for bank details should not share those details. No bank will call and ask for the numbers in your ATM. Similarly no bank will ask OTP. So people should not be fooled by fraudsters, says RBI.
